Tony Hawk chicken skull deck, 1987. During the manufacturing of the deck, it displayed a slight warp and was put aside, a center hole drilled and fixed with a clock and distributed to a local skate shop.Artist- VCJ, Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. I bought it in 1988. I probably would have gripped it and rode it, however, the new hawk claw deck was released and this one, Tony's signature model became unavailable.
It's hung on the wall and been on the move for 30 years. I have seen others pop up over the years, none including the clock unit. What's the warp like?
In the times when we drilled holes for rails, nose and tail bones, I think it's trivial. It's in great shape with some imperfections I've tried to show in the pictures. Funny, but true, the warp gives it a little concave, otherwise, not really seen with boards of the mid 80's.
